“A Shame-free Plan for Embracing and Achieving your Goals”

Ten Lessons Learned

1.- Sorry, But No Sorry.
Even though this book is directed for women; after reading it, I’m sure the title could be just “Stop Apologizing.” It’s OK to feel insecure about standing out of the rest and have big dreams, but at the same time, we think it is necessary to ask for permission or apologize for not fitting on other’s expectations. First, you have to be clear of what your dream is and turn every desire that starts with “What if..” into action and then into reality.

2.- Imagine.
Imagine what the world would be if all of us pursue our dreams and not what others expect or think, we could change our lives and our planet. First, we have to break our barriers, and our limiting beliefs, in other words, our excuses.

3.- Do what you want.
Don’t do what others do, just because someone tells you to, or do what they expect from you, don’t let other people determine your life, don’t be ashamed for following your dreams, make a plan and start. Every journey begins with a step, but to reach your goal, you have to keep moving.

4.- You have time, and you’re Capable.
One of the most excellent excuses is that you don’t have time to follow your dreams, but if you make simple adjustments to your habits, you can have half an hour each day; and reclaim 182 hours, which is an extra month each year. Another is “I’m not enough to Succeed,” then find out what’s missing and learn all you need, either in classes, books, or the internet, and use that extra time you reclaimed.

5.-Don’t be afraid or concerned about what others may think.
Don’t worry about what others say: remember there are two types of people in the world. Those who won’t judge you, and the judgmental people, who are jerks. Remember that fear often comes from worrying about what other people will think if you fail, so fail fast, fail often; and then learn from your mistakes. Don’t allow others to dictate over your life.

6.- Change your Behaviors.
The first one is to stop asking for permission; you don’t need anyone to grant you the OK for dreams. Focus on one dream at a time and go for it, prioritize and follow your plan, use the 10-10-1 method, think where you want to be in 10 years from now, then think of the 10 dreams you need to get you there and then pick 1 and go for it.

7.- You’re Not Alone.
No one can build an empire by himself, and you don’t need to know everything, so, fill your life with people to help you achieve your dreams, look for mentors, teachers, assistants, coworkers, and anyone else you need to get to the top. Also, get healthy and organize your day; you’ll need all the stamina to go and change the world, but do it organized; otherwise you will only create chaos, start your morning planning for success. But remember that if someone tries to distract you from your goals, with their requests, in the most courteous way just tell them “No, thank you, Not at this moment.”

8.- Acquire some Skills.
Be sure to learn Planning, you can easily succeed by thinking of your goal and then going backward, break it into smaller steps, and put dates to each one. Be more confident in yourself if you don’t know how to do something, you can always learn how. Be persistent and effective in your work; it is not enough to have a good plan if you don’t follow it. Still, also you have to do it effectively, replace your to-do list with a result list, always try to be more efficient, surround yourself with a productive environment, avoid distractions, and give yourself time to reevaluate and correct the course.

9.- Some more Skills.
Life is not a fairy tale, so when things don’t go your way, choose to be positive, be grateful of all the blessings in your life, remember that you choose your thoughts, so when you find yourself thinking something negative, stop then replace it with a good one. Try always to be an example to others; someone they want to follow. Avoid all bad habits and don’t allow yourself to criticize anyone. Always be a leader, as the author says, is all about being able to LEAD-HER-SHIP and show others the way to live better lives.

10.- Believe in Your Self.
You are exactly what you need to succeed in your life, to achieve all your dreams, you don’t need anyone to tell you when to do all the stuff you know you need to do. Also, you need no one’s permission to go for your dream. You are destined for greatness, so live your life exactly how you want, follow your dreams achieve all your goals it doesn’t if you’re the first person or many others have done it. Like the Nike logo says, “Just Do It.” And Stop Apologizing.
